bmw Z1 being 'fragile'

i read somewhere that bmw Z1 being too fragile to drive everyday, would this be right??

i've heard it has its erm difficulties and weak points but i can't see why it would be a problem to use it everyday.... anyone care to shed some light on the matter..

I can't see why either. It's drivetrain is simply an E30 "M20" 325i engine and box, but mounted far back to get the 50-50 weight distribution.
The M20 engine and Getrag 260 used in that application is pretty tough.
The Z1 uses the first application of the "Z" arm rear suspension but I've heard of no problems with it....
