They’ve been recommended in the independent specialists sticky.
Just interested to know of anyone’s experience before I go there.

Spent many hours and many many pounds there.

George knows his stuff. Varying opinions on here and cutters though as they aren’t cheap!

Appreciated. The varied google reviews concern me.

I think the issue (from what I’ve heard and read) is that a: they’re not cheap
B: a couple of influential members on cutters had an issue with the fact that trainee mechanics were doing work on their cars and for what they were paying, they expected something more.

George looked after my e46 M3 for 5 years. Servicing, fault finding, new head gasket, tensioner pulley amongst other things.

He’s an honest guy, a bit of a geezer and not very organised. You’ll either like him or you won’t.

His young guys do work on the cars and are very capable of routine stuff - I’ve always seen George overseeing them closely regardless.

I guess you need to take everyone’s view with a pinch of salt but I’d recommend popping in to have a chat and a look round.

Tell home Dave with the techno violet m3 that sold last year sent you. If I was still in a BMW, I’d be losing a lot more Saturday mornings down there.

Ok thanks.

Losing your mornings to what? Chatting or fixing

Mostly me asking questions, pointing at something asking something stupid about it.
Or his racing days.

I’m not a fixer.

Hi, just wondering any updates on George and Technosport? Has anyone used them over the last year? Happy with everything? I've been there twice over the years and have been pleased. However, they're not cheap...

Just wondering if they're still going strong?

well i ended up using them once - and that was the only time. didn't trust the guy and he wanted me to do all sorts of unnessecary things. not surprised they've closed.

The owner (George) had been diagnosed with a serious illness last year. He hadn't been in for a while over a year ago (I last visited in June 2021), so it could be that in his absence things went down the drain.

When I was there his nephew (I think) was holding the fort but quite downbeat about the whole thing. Not surprised they've since closed for good.

Sadly George had motor neurone disease and has now passed on to the great racing track in the sky. He was a great mechanic and a wonderful mate.

That’s horrible news.

I knew him well over the years he looked after my M3.

RIP George.
