My Main Dealers is charging £175 + vat for an Oil change on our 320 Ci.

Is this the normal rate ?

Or is it worth going elsewhere to have the job done ?
Cheers guys .

I was quoted £160 inc. by a main dealer for my '96 318iS, so that includes a discount under Four Plus.

The bits only cost me £30 from Halfords...and a bag of cashew nuts for my Dad as a thank you!

National tyre advertising in major newspapers oil and filter change, ANY car or van UP TO 2600cc

£10......10/50

£15.......Semi synthetic

£20........Synthetic.

Can't remember what oil, but it was decent stuff.......

Not worth getting your hands dirty at those prices....

Why not ask for a quote for YOUR car???????

£120 on Z3M (not sure if including VAT or not). You can save a few quid by supplying your own oil.

I'm pretty sure that my last oil change was Mobil 1 - which if they are providing for £20 then I am impressed!

If you supply your own oil, you get the service much cheaper and that all-important stamp in the book (if you want it). Probably the best compromise.

Castrol SLX is 13 quid a liter at the BMW dealers.

My car uses 7 liters for an oil change.

Precisely the same stuff is 40 quid for four liters at Halfords.

I think I'll be supply my own oil to the dealers in future [ and looking for somewhere with cheaper Castrol ].
