Hello everyone,,
I have 294,000+ KM on my BMW, was just wondering what the best engine replacement would be, an M52B28 maybe? I’m not looking to make money on the car, I just love the look of these cars, the car is in very very good condition besides the fact it’s driven 294,000km, there’s no rust or anything like that, I am new to the car community, I was just hoping to get someone else’s opinion on what I should put under my hood. https://downloadnox.com/https://vidmate.onl/https://mobdro.onl/

I'd love to do that but to many projects. I have a mate races a 4.4 L V8 from the 740 in a E30, fantastic but huge money to sort everything. I'd use the 3.5 liter from an E32, plenty around cheap and was I believe one of the engines Alpina fitted.

I would say M52B28, with big bore throttle body and M50B25 manifold. Or even M52TUB28 with M54B30 manifold.

M30 engine would be too heavy and mess up the handling I reckon. Also old and hard to find a good one.

M52B28 is good if you can find a non-Nikasil engine. I wouldn't risk a Nikasil unit having recently had to replace the engine in my low mileage E36 328i.

An M50B25 is a bit heavier (30kg) but would also be a decent choice, but good secondhand units seem to be rare as they are being used by the drifters etc and the donor cars are older (pre-'95).

If you don't mind sticking with a 4 cylinder maybe a twin cam M42 or M44?

M52tu B28. No bore wear worries or oil consumption issues like the 3.0. As mentioned use an M54 B30 inlet manifold and DISA valve.
