About to buy M3 and got choice of ordering on line or main dealer.

Would prefer to go down the route of main dealer but hasanyone bought an M3 recently and if so what would you say is an achievable realistic discount on a new M3?

usually you will not get a discount on an M3..... however, it used to be the rule that if there was a cancelled order (before it was built was the best time) they had to notify BMW and that spot was up for grabs for any dealer. Armed with this knowledge, when the dealer said it was a cancelled order - I said "OK, I will take 5% discount because otherwise I will call BMW ;-)" Said with a smile - and had the right effect!.

This was when the e36 evo was launched..... the price went up just after I place the deposit as well!.

Not sure if its still the same rules???

You'll get a discount.

Just ask.

The cancelled order thing is a new one on me. Dealers are allocated a set number of cars and that is what there back end money is calculated on, so BMW would certainly never take a car off them and pass it on to another dealer.

Its up to a dealer what deal he provides.

Anything around 5% should be easily achievable. If not drop me a mail and i'll point you in the right direction.
