Just got the car back from the dealers with new front discs and pads. I no longer have the well documented juddering, but the brakes seem to be very wooden.

Do you think this is due to the new pads needing time to bed in, or should i be back to the dealer?

Chief,

It seems BMW don't 'do' brakes: check out the frowns viz a vis both the new M cars' stoppers.

Uprate City: see a specialist, main dealers will as main dealers do, i.e. they are preordained menu-only automotons with a zero reading on the initiative scale.

Hmmm, as i feared!

There is a myth i have heard whispered in closed circles, that a highly skilled, ex BMW engineer is now running an independent 'M' clinic somewhere in deepest Sussex. Anyone heard similar? It would be a not inconsiderable trek from my Buckinghamshire home. but surely well worth it, to know that beast is fully fettled......
