Apologies for the cross-posting with bm3w.com. A real quick one but what ISN'T covered on the warranty for a car approaching 100,000 miles? A bmw dealer friend of mine tells me that after 60,000 a few things are excluded from the warranty - suspension and brake parts being excluded over 60,000 miles??? I've never heard of this, but it kind of makes sense. Is he talking bull, or is the BMW extended warranty not as comprehensive as I'd hoped? Are there 2 different BMW warranties perhaps? A 'used car' warranty and a 'new car' warranty (which can be extended)? Looking to buy this weekend so really need to know!

AFAIK everything is covered as long as you keep extending it and have it serviced by a main dealer. The only exception to this would be wear & tear items such as tyres, brake discs, etc.

Surely if higer mileage cars had a lesser cover then the price should be reduced?

News to me if this isn't the case; have you phoned BMW UK?

T 0870 5050 195
E warranty@bmwfin.com

Might be better writing.

Smarties reply is my understanding - everthing is covered including your battery. Consumables obviously arent.

New car warranty covers first 3 years of life then you are invited to take out an extended warranty which is with a third party company now although under the BMW banner. It is not as comprehensive as the first warranty but the differences are subtle.
