I know Ted and a few others run Alpina's on here, it seems to be hard work trying to insure one. Can anyone please point me in the direction of any insurance companies that are even slightly sympathetic. The car is a UK model B10 saloon...Thanks.

Welcome to the club

I'm insured through UK Insurance (originally Privilege then at some point they switched it to UKI without really explaining the relationship between the two companies).

The documentation is still labelled with 'TVR' as if it's some special TVR specific policy but they switched it to the Alpina without any of the trouble I anticipated.

Not sure how competitive it is generally, but I paid about £100 more than I was paying for my TVR (which was group 20 anyway).

I switched from a 2003 Tuscan to a new Alpina Roadster S and was actually refunded money by Tesco last year.
Full No Claims Protection, inclusive of business use but limited to 15K Miles per Year set me back just over £700.00.
Renewal is due in June ... it will be interesting to see what they come back with.

PetrolTed, UKI is the underpin of DirectLine (RBSI Royal Bank of Scoland Insurance).

The partnerhips are run by the same companies, and can be slightly different. Most of the common partneships are Tesco, Peugeot, Vauxhaul, BMW, TVR, Citroen, Priveledge, Natwest, and probably some others I carnt remember. They also own Churchill now too, and Devit.

I have just insured my B10 V8 through Privilege. Cheapest of the mainstream by far. Even Mannings who insured the Griff could not get close. Did require a hefty XS though to bring it down to sensible levels.

Tescos came up trumps for a customer buying a B3S Coupe to
