I'm looking to purchase an M3 in the next few months and have been concerned after reading through several forums on the BMW M3 warranty renewal price rice to £700+
I sent an enquiry to Warranty Wise for a BMW M3 2001 with 48k and recieved an interesting reply.
The Premium Cover Policy covered everything from all the engine components to the air con as in a BMW warranty for £312 for 1 year.
There were also some addtions:
MOT Failure £29.50
Key Protection £14.95
Tyre Insurance £29.00
Main Dealer Labour £64.76

You could also take out up to 36 months on a warranty.
This sounds like a bargin, has anyone bought a non BMW warranty and what are the differences between the BMW warranty and a non BMW warranty?

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!

a) they have loads of small print clauses, such as "known" issues with the model, reasonable use etc....

b) they will want to send out an independent inspector *cough* to validate the problem before they will allow BMW to commence with any work. This can add a week or so onto getting even the simplest issues fixed.

BMW warranty is the best in the busines, but sadly it costs ;(

after market warrants are very dodgy full of loop holes. the main one to watch is general wear and tear
we had one that wouldnt cover a wheel bearing coz it failed through lack of lubrication ??
also a cambelt tension broke and the belt fell off cylinder head was scrap, would only pay for the tensioner, not the engine damaged coz it failed through lack of lubrication again
be very carefull and read the small print, you get what you pay for in this world

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like BMW warranty is the way forward even though it is expensive.
