F11 Passenger Door Lock problem

my 63 Plate F11 has suddenly developed a strange issue with the passenger door lock - the actuator seems to struggle to push the pin up and so does the internal door handle but most of the time the door still actually unlocks and can be opened - I have removed the door card and can't see anything obvious - ie the cable from the internal door handle to the lock seems intact and ok, and nothing else appears out of place ....
any suggestions?
I read this could be rather expense - I do have extended full warranty would this be covered or not...?

Well I have done a little bit more investigation and it certainly appears to be something wrong with the actuator - this might be due to low battery power. I have put the battery on charge an will see if this makes a difference but it seems strange that it affects the passenger side only - or is there a varied tolerance in the level of current these things require - ie perhaps the Passenger door actuator requires slightly more current and the battery fails to provide it in it's current state?
With a full BMW extended warranty is the actuator covered by BMW - my excess is 250 so is it worth claiming for a new actuator?

Stumbled across this post as I'm experiencing exactly the same issue on my 535D 2010 F11. Although the pin may not raise, the door still unlocks and unlocks without any issues. If I press the unlock button on my fob 3 or 4 times, the pin will eventually rise to the top. Repeated presses of the lock/unlock buttons seems to 'free it up' and it works normally, but leave the car for a couple of hours and the issue returns.
Did you manage to find the cause of this and if so, what was the fix?

This car is new to me as of the end of January and today I decided to investigate the sticky pin further. I removed the door card and sprayed a fair amount of silicone spray in the actuator, worked the lock up and down, a bit more silicone spray and clipped everything back together. Low and behold, it's still the same... If I open and close the car 3/4/5 times, it frees off and acts normally then a few hours later, it's back to being sticky.
As per the post above, the car continues to open/close without any issues, it's just the pin that sticks. Leads me to believe that the motor controlling this individual function doesn't like the cold. I'll leave it for now and monitor it, if it doesn't hinder the opening/closing of the door, I'll leave it.
