Hi, I drive a 1999 T reg 323i Sport Touring and over the last couple of days when I have started the engine there has been a problem with the climate system...

...bascially when I first start the engine there is nothing on the screen and none of the buttons for the will work e.g. the fans, the temp, air flow etc. The problem usually clear within a minute, for now, but I want to get it sorted rather than wait for it to stop working!!

As anyone got any ideas or had a similar issue?

Thanks

Dan

If you mean the display panel goes blank sometimes ??
its a faulty panel very common on E46 models have changed quite a few for that problem

Thanks, although mine is an E36, i have since discovered that this is a common problem with the climate system. it's apparently a £200 fix from BMW or a 30p resistor, so i'm going to try and fix it this weekend!!

Thanks

We had that same problem on the climate control on an E36 328. You may have to buy an entire resistor pack. It still shouldn't cost you too much.
