Boost gauge probs (Cooper S)

Recentley fitted a boost gauge to my MCS, ive tapped a feed from the Fuel pressure reg as always and routed it through to the car...yet on wide open throttle im getting only 5psi boost 
! Also when i turn the car engine off the needle sticks at 10psi vacuum and if i remove the vac line from the unit, it drops to the desired +/-0...i refit the pipe, start engine and then back off, the gauge sticks again! grrrrr...he he nah im not that stressed, would just like it to work properly !
Any info would be really grateful...ive never had any probs before as i used to have this gauge on my polo g40 running 20psi !
