Huge info on here www.m5board.com/ look under the E34 forum and ask the question. They seem to go from around 5.5k for a high mile 3.6 up to silly money for late low mileage 3.8 LE's in the region of +12k!

I got my 3.6 a few months back for £ 4800
full BM service history & receipts
130k miles....(remember mileage is less important than history/condition on these hand built BMs)
4 Brand new tyres
no rust/clean straight body

best bang for my buck.

The 3.8 has noticeably better low end torque and is quicker overall

you know it makes sense Danboy.....get a good one (3.6 or 3.8) and you'll be wondering why it took you so long to get one!
as the other said above , check out M5board for best info and details of some E34 M5s currently for sale.

this months BMW magazine has an article on them, surprisingly it said the 3.8 engines were not as solid as the 3.6 ones, which is a shame cos I'd like to trade up

I've never heard that before. The only problem with trading up for you is EDCIII which is mind ly, bollock wiltingly expensive to replace.
