I'm thinking of buying a 325 tds se to replace my high mileage 525 tds se (smaller body and slightly better mpg)

My timing is awful because I just put a set of quality 17" 225/45 tyres on the 525 which cost over £500! - so I'm thinking of swapping the wheels around before selling the 525.

So, are the wheels & tyres interchangable between models? (both are 1995 models)

I think the stud pattern will fit, I doubt thtyres will though. I bet you would need a lower profile. But i'm only guessing.

They won't fit as the cars have different offsets. The 5 series wheels will sit a long way out compared to the 3 series wheels and will catch on the arches. The car will also be horrible to drive. It's not just the stud pattern, but the offset, tyre and rim width that has to be correct for wheels to fit a car

Told you I knew nothing.

Don't listen to me.

Sticking to selling cars from now on.

Thanks guys - I guess I'll just have to let the wheels go with the car after all (sob)
