I've noticed a bit of a quirk with mine. Driving along, minding your own business and everything is fine. Then, when you put the brakes on, the headlights seem to have a bit of a dicky fit, waggling up and down as thought they've completely lost the plot.

Is this normal?

Hi Dave,

My self levelling Xenons on the 320d don't do this - but I'm sure I don't brake as hard as you.....

I've never noticed that with mine. As far as I know xenons are linked to a sensor on the front suspension somewhere which detects when the front is dipping (or rising under power). They are meant to adjust themselves to stay level with the ground.

Mine more or less do this, I notice them moving slightly as I pull up behind other traffic. The movement is a bit jerky though, maybe this could be what you're seeing?

I think I remember hearing that a few people have had problems after the engine recall, maybe the sensor got disturbed or something when they took the bottom part of the engine to bits.
