Are any of the 'off the shelf' E36 M3 supercharge kits actualy much good? Been looking at a few on the net with a view to increasing the power output of a 95 M3 - most of them look a bit ropey (to say the least!) chopping bits of engine bay up etc. to fit the supercharger in!

IMHO best way to do it would be a small'ish positive displacement unit (Rotex do one that would be suitable), fab a chargecooler up that'd fit between the plenum and the AMM, removing the standard airbox would free up sufficent room to squeze the charger in and then its just a case of belting it up and sorting the management out. This solution would give a nice short inlet length, be compact/light and fairly neat - so to save me firing up the Tig anything like that available?

I have an ESS conversion using a Vortex V2-SQ on my 2.8 Z3. I think it's spot on, same character of the engine, just loads more grunt everywhere. BHP went from 171 to 285 at rear wheels at only 6 p.s.i boost.

I got Raj from NSRacing to do the conversion and their workmanship was to a high standard (I'm an engineer, so that's a qualified statement).

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
