Encountered a small problem this morning on which I thought I'd survey opinion. Trying to open the door to my E36 cab this morning, and it wouldn't budge! Didn't seem to be so much that the lock was frozen, more that the window wouldn't drop to allow it clearance from the roof!

Straightforward enough methinks, a little warm (not hot!) water along the window where it meets the door, and it should drop fine.

Erm, no. Still wouldn't budge! I could hear the window motor desperately trying to power the window down half an inch or so, but it just couldn't budge it!

Question is, where should I be concerntrating my car-warming efforts to get in my icy beemer?

Seems straightforward I know, but bly frustrating at 7am when you're freezing your ae off!

TIA

PS Have cans of de-icer spray suddenly become cp over the last 12 months? They used to rid a screen of ice in seconds, but mine just leaves a lovely greasy finish on top of the ice! New kind of ice to blame, or is my local Halfrauds stocking useless de-icer?

Pour the water around the bottom of the window where it meets the top of the door. I get the same problem with the window freezing up, but only when its really cold.
