That is one dodgy colour, I'm sure I've seen this up for sale for ages now
I'd say it's a grand too expensive, theres cars in more 'saleable' colours for a lot less
A quick surf of Autotrader found a 97 P 323i for £4k and in the very nice Mederia Violet
It that colour the seller will either have to wait an age for the right buyer or slash the price to shift it, it's always a problem if you spec a very 'one off' colour

I wasnt asking for your opinion on the price, if you can't be positive at least be polite enough to keep it to yourself.

Well don't post your adverts in the forums then.

and 170bhp isn't "nearly 200"

How can you have a 'factory order Alpina replica' ?

Answer : you can't. You can either have a 323i or for the year 1998 a genuine Alpina B3.2

The only things Alpina about this car are the wheels and bodykit, the badge is in the wrong place.

What a negative bunch you lot are turning out to be today! ... then again, this is a forum, so can't really complain now can I? (err, no).

You can have an Alpina replica (in this case) by walking into your BMW dealer, ticking all the options and writing out a cheque for £32,000. That's what the original buyer did, and she ended up with a lovely looking car with all the Alpina looks, its just missing that vital ingredient - the big engine!

As for the badge being in the wrong place, it could be - but it was BMW who put it there so that's good enough for me.

I've seen this car in the flesh and the pictures don't quite do the car justice.

No it's not silver (yawn) but I personally think it works quite well.

As for price, it's the same old story it's worth what someone will pay for it and it doesn't look that over priced compared to some cars available at the moment (both on here and on Autotrader).

Well the colour is personal opinion but so far I've stuck to the facts or what I believe are the facts. I'm not saying it's not a nice car, far from it, I love E36s, just that the thread title is 'Very nice E36 Alpina Coupe' and there's a lot more to an Alpina than wheels and a bodykit.

I would have to defer to a BMW dealer for the definitive answer but I don't think you could have ordered a new BMW but said I want Alpina wheels and an Alpina bodykit. Are they on the original bill of sale ? Manufacturers, as Alpina is, abhor replicas.

...er and the small matters of the gearbox, suspension, brakes and exhaust system not forgetting the interior.

Alpina badges are on the LHS with the type on the right like this.
