My 1998 528i touring is due for 4 new tyres. A couple of years back I swapped the original 15" wheels (Eco Continental tyres) for some 16" with Dunlop SP Sport 2000 tyres. There was a small but definite reduction in ride quality. Any recommendations for new tyres on the 16" that will improve the ride?

Currently running Michlin Pilots at present, no issues with them. I may try Goodyear F1's next time though as they have a good press as a sporting tyre and they are cheaper than the Pilots .

Pilot sports, or Yokohama AVS dB for a third of the price (specially developed for comfort and quiet).

SP Sport 2000, along with the otehr low end dunlop ranges are truly dreadful tyres.

Hi Harry,

I ran Michelin Pilot Sport tyres on the last car and they were superb in the wet or dry.

It's a shame they don't have a size suitable for the TVR S. Mines on 17's of course, none availabe in the correct profile a real shame!
