After my first w/e at the Nurburgring decided that I NEED a M3 for the track!

Want to strip out / upgrade brakes / susp / roll bar.

Firstly- Anyone have such car for sale? (Prefer LHD - will be keeping in apartment in Antwerp)

Secondly - appreciate all guidance concerning upgrade / alteration options.

Cheers - Buster!

Plenty for sale, autotrader website, try the german type autotrader, autoscout24.de i think.

As for upgrades, I had mine for 2.5 yrs & did the following( this wasn't a dedicated track car though, i used it every day)

Bilstien sprint suspension / eibach springs allround.
std anti roll bars w/polybushes
renew all std rubber bushes/ suspension mounts
eibach strut brace ( brill- well worth £100)
tarox 40 groove front discs, std rears, pagid pads all round, ate super blue race fluid.
engine- K&N panel in evo2 airbox ( induction kits not worth it due to the heat the s14 gives off)
decat scorpion ehxaust
throttle bodies sync'd, coolant temp sensor changed.

Dont bother looking at too much in the way of engine upgrades as:
a) the few upgrades there are( cams, management, 2.5 evo111 rebuilds) are very expensive for the small increase in bhp.
b) the s14 is pushing 100 bhp per litre as standard.
c) the DTM racers with a full factory budget behind them were only getting 280- 340 bhp.
if it's the handling you want get the E30, if you want the speed Get an E36 M3 evo instead, 321bhp from the factory, check the pistonheads classifieds - mine for sale.

Hth
Darren.

Hows this for a mind of usually usless information.

BMW Car magazine ran a Track Car Buying Guide featuring the E30 M3 in their June 2002 issue, you should be able to get a back copy through their back issue department +44 (0) 1732 748084 or e-mail subs@unity-media.com

Hope this helps

You may want to look for an M3 LHD in Germany at -already mentioned- www.autoscout24.de or at www.uk.mobile.de with English language controls.
Lots of German cars there, but many M3s are modded boyracer cr@p with illuminated windscreen washers

i bought the cerby for £44K, sold it 2 years later for £32K on brokerage so lost 10% + vat commission which netted me about £29k. £15k depreciation in 2 years is a lot but i guess around the amount to be expected!

Looking forward to tomorrow though!!!
