Used Z3

I have just purchased a 1997 1.9 Z3 for my girlfriend - FSH, 90,000 and seems ok from the outside.

Is there anything in particular I should watch out for?

There are a few potential issues;

mirror mounts corroding,
fuel tank straps coming loose/clonking,
power steering pipe (at the pump end) fractures,
usual bushes wearing on front suspension,
hood & rear window wear - not too many hoods leak,
alarms get set off by taxi's passing,
central locking sometimes sticks - mainly on drivers door,

and that's about all I know that might go wrong.

If it doesn't have a strut brace, well worth the investment as it makes the car a lot more stable on poor road surfaces. Loads available 2nd hand now.

You might also want to check out www.zroadster.net as there's quite a lot of UK folk on there and loads of drives out (not all driving like hairdressers before anyone asks )
