My Turbo doesn't kick in at all (320d) if and only if the car has been left for say 8 hours or more in weather 4 degrees or colder (tested over 2 months now)

Bmw Liverpool claimed they fixed it, but the problem came back when it turned cold again! Reading couldn't find the problem as it was 12 degrees the day they had it. Now it's cold I can book it in, but it's a pain.

What senesor could cause this to happen?

To fix it I need to start the engine for 10 seconds, stop the engine, wait 20 seconds, restart and all is OK until you park it somewhere cold for a long period of time.

hmmm ?

An indication of our technical incompetence rather than our not willing to help.

It is very odd, you only need start the engine for a couple of seconds, then it is essential you turn it off and wait 20-30 seconds , restart and everything is fine.

Obviously I don't drive it too hard when cold, but the turbo is quite wound back on standard turbo diesels.

I'm convinced it is just a sensor... just a niggle really.
