Its a very highly tuned engine, be very carefull of some of the power claims out there!

IMHO its not worth it unless you go the whole hog and decat, sports exhaust, induction kit etc

hmmmm - had it done, not "really" sure that you can tell the difference. Difficult without a proper back-to-back test.

Most companies shold offer a free removal if you're not satisfied - I know DMS do.

If I were you, I'd concentrate on exhaust & brakes. Supersprint system is very good with 100 cell race cats combined with AP caliper & pagid pads. I'm not convinced anyone has gained anything by altering the air intake or with chips. Or buy a CSL !

The consensus on www.bm3w.co.uk is that there is little or nothing to be gain from chipping an E46 M3. If you want to tweak it, look to the exhaust.
