Hi,
Since the recent cold snap we have had my 520 seems very reluctant to start when left for a few hours.
It will turn over ok then start but won't idle at all and seems to be misfiring slightly. reving it up to 4000rpm sorts it out then it drives fine.
I don't like reving up the engine when its cold so has anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking its a sensor of some type?
Oh its a '96 24v.

Cold start valve matey.
Had exactly the same thing on my previous 520.
Easy to fix, can't remember how much but not too expensive.

Or....Idle control valve.....I would go for the first option though.

Thanks Mike,
The battery just died and I've fitted a new one and its 100% again.
Quite strange as it was turning over OK.
If it does it again when it gets really cold I'll change the bits you said.
Thanks again,
Gareth.
