just traded in the M3 for one of these, OMG what a car, still running in but the performance is amazing for a 2 1/2 tonne car.

yea dealer said a lot of people have traded M3's for these?!

Yes, I have had mine now for 4 months and over 9000 miles. It has to be one of the best sounding cars on sale at the moment, bar none.

p.s. over on bm3w.co.uk we ran a survey to see how many recent X5 buyers had previously owned an M3 and out of 32 replies, 53% had previously owned an M3 and 13 of those replies had bought a 4.8is.

Supersprint have looked at it and concluded that they cannot make a better exhaust except make it louder. It's already louder than any other BMW..
