I know its a 3.5 six so is this the model also known and described as the M535, or are they different models?

Oh and anyone got any info on the weight of 'em.

Cheers.

As far as I am aware they are different models, the M535I had the body kit, the M5 looked a lot more bare.

I think the M535I had a boggo 3.5 litre six, and the M5 a different incarnation.

A lot of people tried to pass off the M535I as an M5. I am sure they are different, but will be more than happy to be corrected.

The M5 had a 24v head and was hand built by the motorsport division. (the engine)

most M535 wear tartish body kits, whereas most M5's tend to look like 528i's

just to confuse matters an M635 (often refered to as the M6) features the multivalve engine as per the M5

Nah just seen M535s at very low prices lately like ok looking cars for sub grand & even mint lookers for £1500 & thought that sorta price certainly required further investigation

The real M5 it appears tho is quite a long way above that price range tho.

Found out power figs= M535 = 218bhp M5= 286bhp

Listings for both 535 & M535 tho with same power & performance figs, whats the dif between those two?

Edited to add-

DOH! stupid lizard, search pistonheads before asking silly questions!

I know it is a bit different but I had an E28 528i with a dogleg manual. Brilliantly balanced rear wheel drive car. Loads of poke.

One of the only cars I really regret selling. For about £500 it was a beauty.
