SMG change up lights

Managed to locate my second M3 this weekend just past and am now the proud owner of an Estoril Blue Coupe!

Am absolutely well chuffed with the whole package, astounding. I am finding small changes in the set up between my '04 and my business partners '03, none of which are significantly better, just mildly improved.

The biggy in my opinion is my change up lights don't come on until nearly at the red line, where they all come on in a oner. Is this right?

My business partners '03 hits 6.5k revs and they come on gradually from the right, which seems a bit more informative from a drivers point of view.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

depends what gear you're in. In first and second they come on very quickly.

I realise that in early gears its quick to red line, what I was trying to say was that in an 03 the change up lights progressively come on form about 6000-7000 revs, in my 04 they all come on at once at about 8000 revs.

I was just wondering if this was normal for an 04

My 04 CSL doesn't seem much different in this respect to my 02 M3.
