Had a small knock in my car, rang insurer - get quotes etc, goes into garage.

They have the car for 3 weeks, to include a service when bodywork is complete.
Car comes back eventually, go to collect it (after they forgot to phone me to tell me it was ready) only to find it dirty on the inside (sanding dust etc), dirty under the bonnet - spilt oil where they have changed filter. Rear door doesn’t shut properly (that’s been replaced). I Ask for faults to be corrected, car cleaned and a test-drive performed to check for rattles / squeaks etc –‘no problem sir’

Return Monday to collect, car clean on outside, they forget to clean oil from under bonnet, Pay the huge bill and drive of down road, notice sound like ive left rear door open - return to dealer, they come out with me, agree that the door seals are wrong (So much for them test-driving it) also noticed that there a shadow in the paintwork, they agree to respray area and fix door seals.

Return today after they get it fixed, wait 30mins in queue - inspect car (in the dusk), notice that the same shadow still exists in paintwork, Give car back, swear, etc,

That’s three times ive tried to collect my car, every time its been faulty.

I’m really glad that I waited until I got back from holiday before putting the car in for fixing, otherwise I would of just accepted the car back, because I needed to use it – I think that they rely on that fact, rather than taking the time to really give good customer service.

Frankly, I should of used the insurers approved repairers, as they probably would of given better service (in order to retain approval with insurer) as opposed to so-called BMW repair, that’s just subbed out to a 3rd party bodyshop anyway.

Grrrrrr

I had a slight mishap in my current car and decided to choose my own repairer, Vines BMW. They sub out the work to another company also.

Got it home I noticed gaps didnt quite line up properly on the side that wasnt hit(!) and noticed they had made a slight scratch on my newly refurbed/polished wheels

The wrong grill and grill panel section had been fitted - Vines' fault would you believe. So I booked it in again.

Had the grill changed over and asked them to line everything up again. Didnt mention the wheel as it was a slight scratch (got water under the lacquer the other side now so a little scratch is least of my worries!)

In all I was pleased with the repair, just a shame it had to go back a second time. The paint job was absolutely spot on and everything lines up perfectly now with the right grille. They even blew over lacquer on an undamaged panel where the original lacquer was blistering
