AC Schnitzer launches add-ons for 6-series

New aero kit, wheels and suspension

BMW motorsport and accessory specialist AC Schnitzer has developed a range of add-ons for the recently launched 6-series coupe, including wheels, an aero package, suspension components and interior enhancements.

Wheels

AC Schnitzer has adapted its alloy and racing wheels for the new 6-series and its Type III wheels and the new Type IV design are now available, according to the company. As well as various combinations of 19-inch wheel, the 6-series can also carry the combination of 9.0J x 20 with 245/35 R20 tyres (front) and 10.0J x 20 with 285/30 R20 tyres (rear). The Convertible can be fitted with Type IV racing rims in 21-inches.

AC Schnitzer says this improves the driving dynamics of the 6-series and recommends the fitment of Continental and Michelin high performance tyres. In addition, the avant-garde AC Schnitzer Type IV 5-spoke wheels with their spokes running in a star from the pentagonal wheel centre, and one dish per spoke, are an excellent match for the modern timeless design of the 6-series. Optional chrome elements can be inserted in the dishes for extra highlights.

Suspension

AC Schnitzer sports suspension, which the company says has undergone extensive tests on both public roads and on the North Loop of the Nürburgring, lowers the car by around 25 mm, makes the 6-series "sports-stiff with maximum comfort".

Aerodynamics

Additions include a front spoiler, sports mirrors, side skirts, rear spoiler and a rear skirt, available for both coupe and convertible. The Chromeline Set option adds chrome highlights. Integrated in the rear skirt is the twin sports rear silencer system with two chromed tailpipes in Trap-Ment style -- a concatenation of trapezium and segment, said the company. This exhaust system "optimises exhaust gas flow, ensuring improved response and giving the V8 a particularly sonorous voice."

Interior

It includes a carbon-fibre interior trim in silver, an "ergonomically designed airbag sports steering wheel", and aluminium accessories, such as for a controller for the i-Drive system and a pedal set and footrests.

All components are TÜV-tested and available from BMW dealers, said AC Schnitzer.

What I meant was the 6er isn't the best looking Bangle. The M5 is.

I agree the 5 Estate is better looking than the Saloon, except for the M5.

That's purely psychological: you know what's in.

Sorry Mate, I disagree but I'll reserve full judgment until I happen across one on the roads. For me it appears to be carrying the perfect blend of agression and style - even more ultimate Q car than the E39.

Cheers

I think they all look pretty rubbish. If KIA or somebody like that had made cars that looked like the new BMWs nobody would have waited for them to 'grow' as designs and they'd have instantly been condemned.
