New airbox for BMW M3

Benefit from carbon fibre rampipe

Pipercross has a new airbox for BMW E46 M3s. the carbon fibre four-piece unit uses a large frontal tuned scoop intake to maximise the full potential of the high pressure zone at the front of the vehicle. A secondary high pressure intake positioned above brake cooling duct supplements the existing air intake.

Improved air velocity

The full radius rampipe design increases velocity and decreases turbulence in the air prior to passing into the engine's inlet, said Pipercross, speeding up the air and promoting laminar air flow

Fibre construction

The two outer sections are produced in high quality composite carbon fibre for ultimate weight saving and resistance to underbonnet temperatures. Cooler, dense air is essential for maximum power gains.

Motorsport pedigree filtration

The airbox incorporates a Pipercross foam filter element, using the same technology as used by many race teams around the world, maximising engine protection without sacrificing on airflow or throttle response.

More carbon airbox units are in development, including one for the Audi 1.8T.

That looks like a blatant copy of the GruppeM carbon filter ram charger released two years ago.
