Hello there,

My dad has just sold his Z3 2.8 and has bought a 3.0 Z4 with 3,000 miles on it.

The car is pretty sweet looking, Sat Nav and all the bits.

However it's loving 18" wheels have run flats which due to the hardness of the side walls are crud are they not ?

Should he get them replaced with normal tyres or not run the risk and suffer the bumpy ride quality?

hmmmm... Top Car I think though...

There is hardly any noticable difference. Save his money til they need replacing IMO if he's really that bothered...

You work for Bmw?

My head office is in the industrial estate, fun watching all the employees fly round the main roundabouts there

One chap did pull up to me in a Red 1 series, we made eye contact and I couldn't help but make a sort of "I feel ill" look, it's so ugly...

I've got a Z4 with 18" wheels and the run flats. They are not that bad!

People on z4um have discussed various issues - in essence this technology is fairly new, but more manufacturers are doing them now so we should start to see more choice and an improvement in ride and wet weather handling.
