September 2005.

You should find a dealer that will have some left for the first year. We got 6...

JYou can only pre-order at this stage in the UK and some of us have had our names down for 18 months or more, so you won't be at the top of the list at most dealers. Just pre-order, put in a firm order as soon as it is possible to do so (probably Septmeber or October) and you won't need to pay a premium. First UK deliveries will probably be late next summer.

Thanks for your responses. Did not the previous M5 go for £5-£10k over list when it was first released ?

Also my dealer was saying April 2005 for release

Scoobs, in mind of BMWM's post, whats the score then? are your dealership's customers getting their M5s five months after everyone else.

Probably but by 2001 the E39 list price had dropped from the launch price of £60k to £52K. Even then an 8% discount was possible.

Yeah fluck 'em.

April 2005 we get our demo, first client cars are September. At the moment... Things change...

Who knows..

The paper shop owner ooop north has the first one reserved. He doesn't know it though.

Cars that get sold over list are by people that speculate and vehicle sourcing companies. Dealers are not allowed to sell them over list.

Can I have a test drive? somewhere where I can safely examine the handling characteristics, shall we say Brunters in springtime?

DAZ,

The minute I have my filthy paws on one, then you, Greg of E240 fame and the Northern Monkey shall be gathered together for test drive madness... I refuse to have another DeR test drive though.. Someone else can go with him and view the wrong side of the speedo.

Greg,

I figured the last one was easy enough and the old fella likes it so he's bound to want another However I dont think i'll be able to do him a straight swap this time...

Onwards and upwards gentlemen...
