Cruise control – Software upgrade…? (E39)

I’ve got a new 5-series (whilst some minor warranty work is done on my 530) and found one of the best things on the car is the cruise control.
In that, it is actually incremented in MPH and not KPH (as on my current 530). You press the button 5 times and it goes up/down 5 mph. Unlike mine, where pressing 5 times you get to go up/down 3.125 MPH.
Can main dealers do a software upgrade, to make the cruise control work in MPH and not KPH – anyone had it done…?
