I know they are not on sale yet but are they in the dealers yet? Read the reviews but I want to see one in the flesh.

This month's evo rates the Compact vs the new 1 series.

It says the cars are as good as each other in a nut shell.

I have the 320td ES and I can say it is fantastic, cross country is brilliant, motorway is incredible, up steep hills it will out-power a 325 in 3rd gear onwards thanks to its huge torque.

Personally I think the 1 series is so so so so ugly.

Top Gear said that people would only buy it because, 'it is a bmw, and people will buy it for that reason'

Look at the car , it looks like someone fat has sat on it. It is ugly.

The Alfa 147 is much better looking... the Focus is a better choice all-round (as the 1 series is 5 door only).. and for the money you could buy a full spec ST170......

Come on guys, look a the 1 series. it is not good........... please someone agree with me!

I'd agree with you. It looks like Bangle got different people to design each body panel and then whacked the lot together - doesnt compare with the little alfa, new mini or even a golf for that matter...i do like the advert music tho!

Driven the petrol one both on road and at Rockingham.
Handles well but underpowered. Now the diesel is another matter, my son took the diesel round the track with me in hot pursuit in the 1.6. I had no chance.
