Can anyone help pls?

Got a 320d 2000 with 110K on it.

Its brill except for a couple of things which I need to sort out if I can to bring the car back to 'as new' condition.

1) There seems to be nowhere near as much torque as should be between idle and 1800rpm (until turbo starts boosting) in fact it is easy to stall when just pulling away, the economy needle says 'glug glug' even when just pulling away gently, and when the turbo does start to boost, it does so quite sharply but then seems to come straight off boost before slowly surging up again??? When its up 3-4K its fine and cruises ok. I dont know what it should feel like but from expierence I shouldnt be having to burn the clutch away just o get up a 1 in 5 in first with a full car. Help!!! Is it a manifold leak? sensor problem?

2) the car pulls off to one side (with wheel cenrtral it goes straight - it just wants to wander off), the tyres are all in good order infact new and pressures equal. I suspspect tracking or maybe the rack has been shunted off centre??? Help!

3)And finally to finish my begging, can anyone suggest if there is a problem with the climate control as when its just been started and aircon is on, it seems to start and stop randomly every couple of seconds before settling down. And seems to only blow quite hard and noisily.

any help would be much appreciated by those in the kno???

ash.

Surely (2) can be sorted by just having the tracking adjusted, and I suggest you have a dealer or specialist look at (1) or (3) unless you actually want to try and fix it yourself?

Ref the low end torque I have a compact as a company car and there is nothing below 2k rev. Reving it to about 1.8-2k when pulling off seems to cure the problem.

You could also get a remap for £600, +50bhp and +80lb ft. It should also help the low end some.

Can't tell you what's wrong with no. 1, but I can say that my 320d Sport is full of torque (step box) - v smooth and pulls surprisingly quickly across the range regardless of terrain. Haven't driven a manual so don't know the difference, but it should be smooth and quicker than you'd expect.
