Exploding Air Con E30 M3

One of the air-con pipes from the compressor gave way today and sent all the high pressure contents all over the exhaust manifold! Smoke everywhere and the oil [yes, most of the air con charge is lubricating oil]caught fire... Not a huge deal as the flames soon burnt out but I learned enough today to buy and extinguisher and advise all E30 M3 owners with Air Con to check the pipe that runs about 2 inches infront of the exhaust manifold.

I was going slowly and was able to pull over, had I been on the motorway then the fire might have been more severe!

Glad it wasnt more serious, if the fire hadnt gone out so quick you may have lost your car
