I've owned my (99T) e46 323i now for just about 12 months and when I bought it I was extremely pleased at the quality of the body work etc for a car that had clocked up a few miles, did all the normal tests and it checked out, never wrote off/resprayed etc. However here we are 12 months down the line and a small (correction miniscule) yet annoying rust bubble is appearing on the front arch, now correct me if I am wrong aren't all new BMW's covered against corrosion for 10 years and further more is there any mileage in trying to get BMW to sort it with me NOT being the original owner.

Now if I had spent my hard earned cash on a lump of french metal then I perhaps would not be so bothered but a BMW that's only jsut 5 years old?

Further to my earlier post, I was jusy wondering, if there is no mileage in getting BMW to lok at it, would I need to get the whole wing resprayed or is it likely to just patch ok? any comments greatfully received....

I'm sure there is milage in talking to BMW.

Other than that, get chips away in.

I spoke to a dealer about a couple of bubbles on my old 328 (it spent the first 8 years of its life on the west coast of Scotland, it didnt stand a chance), they wanted to replace half of the shell to garantee the repair. FRO was my reply.

Don't blame you mate.

I've now spoken to BMW and it needs to go in for an inspection....general line is, if it has started from the inside and worked out then it is a claim, if it has started from the outside, via a chip or ding and worked its way in then its not. As far as I am aware there were no chips there before, so may have a chance, I'll keep you posted.
