Can somebody please give me a clue as to why my car has this completely randomn habit of unlocking itself, winding down all four windows and retracting the sunroof?

F@cking German sh1te - never got his kind of thing with my Lexus!

(I had a new battery about 3 months ago, btw and I don't subscribe to the inadvertent key fob activation syndrome theory).

Faulty key fob my dear fellow

Hold down your 'open' button on your fob for more than 3 secs and it will do the same thing (if you didn't already know)

must be to do with the fob

Yes, that sounds like a fair plan of attack Scoobs. Oh and his lordship requires an E60 M5 for evaluation purposes whilst his E39 is being repaired (he may not realise it yet but he does ).

ah... mr. ren, it is indeed a body module. i have spoke at great length with mr restrictor (no other length with him) and it is a simple job just a quick call to his local dealer for some warranty jiggery buggery...

he has the first E60 M5 but he doesnt know he's ordered it yet...
