known issues US 328i

Hi all,
In my companies parking garage there's a lovely '99 328i for sale. It seems to be a US import as it's LHD and has MPH indication on the dashboard. It was registered over here (Holland) in '03.
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following:
- how does it compare with the later 330i (is it worthwile to spend a little bit more cash on one of these).
- Will the US spec cause me any problems over here? (I'm thinking radio frequencies on the in dash stereo and possible other items).
