I got a nice brand new 320d compact last week...

It's like a my first bmw... or bmw for beginners... or the 22 year olds who can't afford the coupe!

It's very good though, much better than the focus I had before!!

I bought a '98 M Roadster last week. Really pleased with it! Goes like a pocket rocket, and has completely converted me on to BMW, having thought they were a bit boring in the past. Love the solid build quality too, compared with my old TVR.

May I ask, did you get a 'good deal'? I've seen stories about substantial discounts on the new 5 Series and rang up one of the dealers mentioned. They poo-poo'd a discount but I was surprised they could get 530d's in 2 wks, if I wasn't fussy about the colour.

I did get a good discount.....targets and end of quarter were mensioned,think it was about 8%.

I ordered it built to my spec and got it in about 4 weeks.

It obviously helps if there are 2-3 dealers nearby trying to do the best deal.
