.........any recommendations for a M-Tec tuning company. I'm thinking of upping the Z3 M Roadster (I still can't keep up with his Tuscan!).

Anyone had this done....what numbers are we talking??

Thanx

try www.zroadster.net IIRC;

there is a guy who's recently been fettling with his car, and i think the most he could manage was 350.

think that was with an Eisenmann (sp) exhaust and GruppeM airbox. not sure if he messed with the ECU ?

Thanx.

I've got around 325bhp at the mo and I just want an idea of how much the extra will cost. If we are talking silly numbers then I might have to re-think.

We had the Celia GT4 upped, remapped the ECU, dump values, stainless steel exhaust etc and spent a fortune doing it so I just want some numbers for now. Thanks for the web address....that's the rest of my day sorted.

yeh, they are a good bunch.

thinking, i'm sure i caught the thread in the Performace section. it'll be talking about chips and exhaust or something.

nice to meet a fellow Z3M owner.

unfortunately mine is under repair after someone drove into the back of me

You could also try HTR. They're based in Bournemouth.

Ask for Joe and tell him I sent you.

www.hyperturismo.com/

His number is 0870 0808 182. A lot of what he can offer is not on his site. If you tell him what you want to achieve, he can guide you from there.

from memory, the M's just dont tune well.

well. thats a bit misleading.. they are ALREADY tuned very well.

> 100bhp litre from the factory... its hardly an easy job to up the power.

The GT4 would be easier, given its Turbo..

its like the porsches, you throw thousands at them, ECU, Zorst, Cams, all for 10-15 bhp.

High Power n/a engines dont make the best tuning candidates.

GL all the same tho

raks, hope yours is back on the Road soon

M engines are very tricky to get much more power out of, and in fact, most 3.2 engines only produce about 290bhp as a rule (as shown by dyno results of a few members of www.e36coupe.co.uk) - The M Coupes and Roadsters are meant to be strangled a little by their shorter exhausts too.

A guy on there has spent about £3.5k on his engine and is now getting a genuine 330BHP, only 9 more than BMW claim, but 40bhp more than before he started.

He has fitted:

Supersprint racing cats (£1100)
ACS back box (£700)
Evolution 2 carbon plenum (£1300)
Dastek unichip with custom remap (£600)

My M3 GT is meant to have 295bhp and his car leaves mine standing (my GT kept up with my friends chipped M Roadster quite easily too, as a point of reference).

Spend the money on the brakes and suspension and leave the Tuscan through the twisties!! IMVHO the last thing an M Roadster needs is more power!!

Hi Jamie

All is coming to a close now, hopefully soon though.

Having issues as they changed one of my exhaust systems and it's a newer part so doesn't match the old. And they want me to pay for the other to be replaced

yeah right....
