E46 330d turns over but won't start
Discussion
Hi all, my car recently had a turbo failure, I have now replaced it but when I came to start the car, it just kept turning over and won't fire!
I switched the ignition on and off about 10 times to make sure the fuel was primed but it still won't start! It will run for a few seconds when I use easy start though.
I can't see how changing the turbo could make the fuel pump go but im open to suggestions and advice, the car has been off the road around 6 months now and im extremly desperate to be honest!
Thanks in advance

Hi, unlikely that your pump has gone, more likely to be a fuel rail pressure fault, if you can, check to see if you have a fault code in there for rail pressure. You can check the leak off on the injectors fairly easy. Pull the leak off pipes off the top of the injectors and clamp the hose before the first leak off pipe connector. Crank the engine and see if one of your injectors is pouring out diesel (they will all dribble a little) if it is then a faulty injector is causing a non start. Has it been a long time with a flat battery? The DDE (engine ECU) and EWS (immobiliser unit) can go out of sync and cause a non start. I've had a few of these engines apart and they always crank a few seconds and fire straight up. If you can get a fault code out of it then it will be easier to pin point.
