Best UK BMW forum?
Discussion
You would be better looking for a forum specialising in the model you are most interested in. Plenty of those for the 3 series cars.
Try Roadfly.com, they got a bit childish a year or so ago but before that they were fantastic and it may have settled down a bit now with the trolls getting banned.

I'm also looking for a good BMW forum, I'm trying to research mp3 playback options in an E65. (Basically I can already play them from an mp3 CD in the changer, but I want to put several GB on a USB stick or iPod and control via I-Drive.) Should I be asking here, BMW forums, 7 series forums or a Hifi Forum? Googling doesn't help much.
As others have said, pick a forum that specialises in the series of car; I can highly recommend http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/ for ny 5 series and bigcoupe.com for any E24 cars. Use google to find the popular forums for each series.

iPod playback via replacement unit for the 6-disc one.Denison do one too, which may take USB sticks as well.
Look on YouTube, I think there's some useful info and demos of the alternatives in action.

Bimmerforums tends to attract slack-jawed mouth breathers who keep banging on about putting angel eyes on, lowering it (FFS), remapping it or generally blinging up a 20 year old motor. V dull. BMWland not as busy but seems a bit more grown up, i.e. none of the above.
I agree with what you're saying about bimmerforums with regards to some of that but there are some users on there that are very knowledgeable. Patrick Bateman said:

I agree with what you're saying about bimmerforums with regards to some of that but there are some users on there that are very knowledgeable. There are lots of knowledgeable people on all the Forums and equally some folk who....err..... are less popular. Over the years of BMW ownership I've had good advise from several - but in this case, it depends what the OP wants. The model specific forums usually have the deep knowledge so for technical data, fixes etc, they're probably the best bet.
I formed www.BMWenthusiasts.co.uk to be rather more inclusive/generic and certainly more welcoming than some, it's comparatively new but growing steadily and attracting a different set of vendors than those usually present elsewhere.
None are bad, it just depends on personal wants and preferred house-style.
