SHOCK HORROR!
Impending M3 purchase knocked a step back after having been told that the E46 don't sound like the E36.
I had the old Schnitzer DTM's on the E36 which sounded fantastic - used to set of car alarms it was so bassy, but i am told that because of the cats on the E46 its a totally different noise.
Does anyone know of any aftermarket backboxes that will replcate the damn-busting noise of the E36 with DTM's. Schnitzer prefered but what about Alpina, Remus or other manufacturers?

M3's do have a rasp that is either loved or hated. I opted for a ACS back box with Supersprint X-Pipe that after a few hundred miles developed a really nice deep tone below 5K combined with a deeper rasp at the top end.

Joe is a great guy that eats and sleeps BMW's. He stocks/can get a variety of exhausts all at very good prices (I've yet to find cheaper!). A popular choice is the Supersprint back box and x-pipe.
