E36 M3 vs Alpina B30

I was looking at an ad for a B30 the other day, and it got me wondering what the differences are between these two (performance etc), and which (in your opinions) is the best car.

Can only really speak about the B3.0 as my old man has a 96 B3 3.0 Switchtronic
It's quicker than an M3, no 155 limiter on a B3
If you go for the switchtronic (which most are) you get to play with gearchange buttons on the wheel or drive it about in slush mode, which was never an option on M3's
It's a lot more exlusive than an M3, and a lot less copies
It's a lot more discreet than an M3, depending on the origianl spec it could just have the front spoiler and the 17" Alpina wheels.
It'll be harder, and maybe a little more expensive to insure than an M3, and theres less to choose from out on the open market (see there is a down side)
