I saw one on the road yesterday. It doesn't look any better in the metal.

Truly awful.
However, I have come round to the shape of the 5.
Maybe the 1 won't look like a pigs ear once we have seen a few (thousand)around.

"it looks like" is all anyone says about every new car.

I wanna know what it GOES like. I bet its gonna be better than any of its competition.
Infact I cant think of any competion for it apart from an 80's Toyota Starlet (also RWD)

Yack!!
I should'n't have to have new styled cars "Grow" on me like some cancer! I also shouldn't have to have them explained to me in styling terms by some camp stylist going on about "flame grilled surfacing" or some other equally prententious abstract load of bull.

True classic styling doesn't become dated- Perhaps I'm an anachronism, but I don't care.
I mean, I'll bet they've gotten rid of the ergonomic dashboard that sweeps round just like on the hideous ant-eater esque new 5 series or the Walrus esque new 6 series!
I'm sure engineering wise it is second to none, powertrain wise BMWs really are beyond reapproach!
In the mean time I'll stick to my heavily modified proper shark nosed E21s and E12s! When BMWs were enthusiasts cars that were far from pretentious fashion accesories.

Lets not forget the Dixi Roadster.

or the 2002 Turbo.

Styling that looks right from the moment you set eyes on it BMW really have lost their way with the 1 Series IMO. Mind you I always thought the Z3 looked good so most people would question my taste.

Another BMW designed by The famous Chris Bangle!!!
He is also know for the new Five! I love Beemers but not any of the new shaped cars except the E46 M which is not designed by Chris!
The old school E30 and E36 are much better on the eye.
The 1 has to many silly angles for me! But what do I know!!!!
