Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can advise me,

Been a PistonHeader for sometime but as I'm currently a TVR Chim owner normally over there.

Family circumstances are forcing me to sell the TVR and get a 'Saloon' Oh Gloom!!

Still a change is as good as a rest. Keep smiling

So,

Thinking about going for a M3 evo ? circa £16K Coupe or drop head??

Though tempted today by an ad for a 530i Sport fully loaded Mmmmm?

Any advise would be gratefully received and faithfully applied!

Regards

Grahame

Was it the M3 Evo that suffered from the Vanos problems might want to be careful of that.

M3 EVO's are great all-rounders! But yes VANOS is an issue (makes it sound like a rattley old diesel when they go wrong). Get one with a BMW warranty. These can be extended up to 100k miles for about £500 pa and are worth every penny. New VANOS is around £1,500.

Cabrio does not handle as well as Coupe - but still fun.

This site will tell you a little bit about what the Vanos does

www.bmwworld.com/technology/vanos.htm

This link here contains some good information about the car and some info on the Vanos problems that can afflict these cars.
