Lovely! How are you finding it compared to a M140i?
It's only been three days, but I love it. In some ways it feels very, very similar- particularly "that" engine and gearbox combination. It doesn't feel much, if any slower right now, and it's going to be getting the MPPSK quite soon so any gap in performance will be even smaller.

It's quieter inside and much more comfortable (even on 19" wheels, though thankfully with Eagle Asymmetric 5s rather than run-flats which I'm sure helps hugely). And IMO in standard form the F30 chassis seems to be miles better than the F20, much more planted, much less ruffled by poor road surfaces.

I’m looking to buy a m140i/m240i but have started to think about the 440i and 340i. I don’t need practicality as such but they seem a better package like you say, the MPPSK also appeals

To be honest I don't think you'd go wrong with either, but the F3x are more complete cars. The F2x are a bit more chuckable but without mods are also quite easy to upset. I actually find driving the F30 fast slightly easier than the M140i.

530D Sports edition in Donnington Silver. Love the car, hate the state of the roads. Driving it is so relaxing but it can motor when required. I have a few points on my licence so I drive like a Grandad which is good as I am a Grandad. Not one for checking mpg but i did the other day after a 80 odd mile round trip and the computer said 47.5 mpg. A little better than the Macan S V6 petrol I had by a factor of 2.

UWA 21

Our E30 325i Cabrio was delivered by Ian Anthony, Bolton on 10th January 1990 (built on 23rd December 1989] and has been used by us only for summers these last 33-years. Its now done 130k with many trips to France and southern Spain. It remains the most comfortable car we own for really long journeys.

It was repainted in 2019 by Chris Gratt, Manchester but apart from its stainless exhaust system remain pretty much original. Apart from its first service, it has always been maintained by Hillside of Heywood.

That’s very good going, and the way E30 prices have gone, you’ve escaped the depreciation! Love Zinnobar too, great colour for a cabrio.

My E61 Alpina B5 Touring. Owned since October 2019 and no intention to ever sell. A real Jekyll and Hyde car, waft along sedately with the V8 when wanted or prod the loud pedal and make full use of the supercharger and it will leave most things for dead.

I do have a bit of a soft spot for a performance diesel myself as well. I remember the first time I drove the auto E90 330d back in 2006 and I was blown away at how quick it felt at the time. I had the Cerbera at the time too, so it wasn't like I was used to a slow car either. Great all round cars I reckon. thumbup

Thanks.

I was lucky to find it. It's like new.

Don't think I'll ever sell it.

Couple of months back i posted about having a smash but can't find my original post - anywhos here is a photo.

After lengthy negotiations with insurers, buying incorrect colour bits on ebay, a 4 week hiatus due to a work trip, i finally have a working car back.

Only issue is my car had intermitent faults.
Kept on flashing up about tyre pressures, dsc faults and lots more.
Sometimes car wouldnt start and key would jam in centre lock.
Parked on a slope today on mates drive and wouldnt start at all.

Turns out someone (probably the scrap yard) had disconnected the battery but left the terminal resting against the battery so most times it was ok. But when you accelerated it came apart and threw errors.... Attaching the connection has miraculously fixed all the issues....

Things i've learnt.
1) never take insurers first offer - i ended up getting over double their initial and second offers.
2) Don't assume your cars colour code from what the person selling told you it was
3) Check your battery

Glad you've resolved it. Just for reference for anyone else, colour code should be on the strut tower (at least has been on my BMWs)
