Needs an MOT now …

Excellent! Have you scheduled it yet? I bet it'll be exciting getting it back onto the road smile

Not yet, but my brother in law runs a Bosch centre so I’ll just drop it in at some point. Few little bits to sort yet; front PDC to be fitted, fog bulbs, and all my heat shields got dented being stored and now foul the prop, so need a bit of fettling to avoid the “knock knock knock”.

Good to see that it’s not too far away from being back on the road again.

Hi All - after some advice for a fault on my 2005 (N52) 330i E90 auto.

The following codes appeared yesterday:
2A3F: Valvetronic, actuator motor: power supply
2A2F: Mixture control 2
2A2E: Mixture control
2A38: Valvetronic, monitoring, sluggish movement.

There are no warning lights on the dash, but the car is running poorly as it does not accelerate past 15/20 MPH. I cleared the codes, and only 2A3F (Valvetronic, actuator motor: power supply) re-appeared with the car still running poorly.
I have noticed some water in the battery compartment (filled ~ a quarter of the way up with water), and wonder whether this is affecting something?

I will of course get it to my BMW indy tomorrow, but wanted to see if anyone has had this issue before and what the likely fix is?

PS: I will need to find out where water is leaking into the battery compartment.

Ok it's a silver SE but this is cheap for a manual car with Xenons, and no horrors on the MOT history:

Its price reflects the condition. See steering wheel for example.

We're part exchanging ours for a fraction of that price on Wednesday. Everyone who said "wow, I'd buy your car" turned out not to want a 19 year old BMW after all, and I can't face eBay or Facebook Marketplace smile

If it was a bit closer to me I'd actually be half tempted to upgrade our sheddy Civic with bust AC and a vague smell of damp for that!

Grey on grey on grey. Not a fan of the interior but for 1.5k with an N52 engine 'only' on 106k, perfect dog/tip car.

And what was grey leather once upon a time!

That is possibly the worst colour combo. Its nasty. Seller knows nothing of cause describing it as Nappa leather.

And, if its a 55 plate and a 325i - it won't have the 2995cc engine the seller claims either? (N53 325i was 2995cc which this won't be?).

It’ll be an N52B25, so 2.5l.

To be fair I'd prefer the N52 engine anyway as it seems to have fewer issues than the N53!

My 2006 325i with the N52 and FBMWSH had done 139K miles when I sold it and still ran really sweet.

Have we all admired this?:

3k miles! If it were a manual I'd be sorely tempted, it's dangerously close to my fantasy of buying my current car new.

Have they got the engine size right? I thought this would be the 3.0 N53 rather than a 2.5l.

That one is an N52. I don’t think Japan got the N53 over sulphur levels in the fuel, like the US.

3,000 miles is wild. Basically a new car! I also think those 17” wheels look great too.

Interior looks mint. Even has the sliding split centre front arm rest. I think the tyres are dated 2008 unless my eyes are mistaken.

That is lovely to be fair, and probably my choice of seats from that generation of BMW. Me dad had the Sensatec/Alacantra ones in his 325i, and they were far more pleasant for every day stuff than leather.

Problem is I'd be scared to drive it with that mileage, and the 2.5 with an auto box is no ball of fire without poking with a big stick.

It's also up for 500 quid less than we got for me dad's after he passed away. That was in 2010.....

Ah, I was thrown by the black engine cover, different variant to my N52 I guess.

I think you're right. I feel like for the money it would be reasonable to expect tyres that aren't 16 years old, however unworn they may be.
