Mines going in for an NCT (Irish MOT) in a couple of weeks, the handbrake is nice and even on both sides, but boy, do I have to pull it up to get it to hold on even a mild hill.I replaced all the shoes on one befoe, it's not the worst job, and the results were quite good.
I'll see how mine gets on, it passed last year and has only done 3k miles since, so hopefully ok.

Important testing performed yesterday. In among the usual autobahn annoyances (rain, traffic, roadworks) I did get a chance to stretch my cars legs. I wasn’t planning on doing so, as it’s old, and done many miles. But a 214,000 mile 330i touring still has it ‘all there’.

This is interesting, as after replacing the (absolutely knackered) rear subframe and diff bushes on the 330ci while the awful clonking and banging was much improved, we ate two propshaft centre bearings in a few miles, first a respectable brand pattern part, then a genuine oem one from bmw.It killed a center bearing a few months ago, fitted a replacement bearing and it killed that within a few weeks, so figured the driveshaft UJ was on its way out.
Bought a used prop back in January so I had one on the shelf.
Over the past week, the shaft became that bad it sounded like it was going to shoot through the floor at any point.
On removal, a few of the roller bearings fell out.
I think I had my moneys worth out of it - its been on the car for 252k
Now solved with a £200 second hand shaft of Nick Jubb (and yet another centre bearing!). Touch wood!
Just need to fix the drivers door handle now and get the interior deep cleaned after 8 months in a workshop.
Drove it for the first time in ages. Only to the shops and for a quick meet up with my brother. His mrs took a couple of snaps out the window that looked cool.
Got a to do list steadily growing before I take it on it's next ring trip, tyres, service, perhaps some bushes that might be getting tired now then a deep clean.

Had the oil replaced on the wifes Aisin gearbox, on her 6 year old 2 series. Had it 4 months, approved used, with 17k on the clock.
Threw up 2 error messages, "Drivetrain. Check soon" and "Service oil transmission required".
When BMW initially checked it, they reported "Transmission oil - shelf life exceeded."
I had visions of gearbox replacement; fortunately would have been under warranty. Scary when you read some of the horror stories about the Aisin box. Just glad it threw up the messages!

i've been trying to get the E36's alarm to arm and disarm using the key fob. So far, getting the fob to display a dim red LED is about as good as it gets. I'm waiting for a new tiny 12v battery to arrive so hopefully that will boost the fobs signal and the alarm might arm itself? I'm struggling to find the module and sort the number of times the hazards flash!

I’ve had the interior out of the Z4 this weekend. The sears have had a deep clean and a basic recolour because they were looking a bit worse for wear but they’ve had some piss poor repair at some point so I may need to take them to someone who knows what they’re doing (there’s quite a lot of poor leather filler). Some numpty has also sprayed the sears but not protected the interior so with the seats out I’ve been scrubbing leather paint overspray off plastic. Joy.
I’ve removed the crappy soft touch plastic finish from the steering wheel trims too because it was shagged. A new wheel is winging its way from Royal soon too.

No probs. I use LTT deep clean myself (still have a gallon bottle of it from my trading days) on both our Stressless and Nattuzi sofas, and on our BMW. Use white kitchen roll. If there is muck you can clearly see it transferring to it, to inform that you need to keep reapplying (until all you're seeing after wiping cleaner of is wet sheet, no muck)I'll put up some before and after pics when it arrives and i do the seats. Edit to add. If there is anything else needing removal from the pigment, eg dye transfer, speak with Judy at LTT, she's always happy to assist.
Nothing I've done today, but an advice request, this thread possibly having the broadest reach. Now in a position of having sorted all of the cars (335i E91) foibles, I'm looking to start the performance upgrades. In prep I want to change the rather crap charge pipe and upgrade the intercooler to an Airtec one, before re-mapping.
